請問有無家長可以俾意見這UK Essex university,亞仔剛考完DSE，而Essex 給了他offer讀今年的  Y1,
Any comments? Urgent.....!

In UK, there are about 120 universities. The ranking of Essex University is around 50.

You need a degree of high 2:1 or first to maintain your competitiveness after graduation. Having said that, if you do not have first or high 2:1, no matter where you are from (except Oxbridge), it is not easy to compete with others either in the employment market or in further studies.

So don't be affected by the ranking of Essex. Just do it and use your best effort to obtain a good honor degree.

因為還有個offer 是university of  east Angila 讀diploma 一年，下年才入UEA year 2, 但耍勤力達到target 才可升！
UEA ranking 比較高過Essex , 大約20！
所以還考慮中，有無UEA 資料可提供呢？

個人認為UEA點都好過Essex, 要使過百萬去䜖書並唔值(如果要咁讀倒不如係HK讀top up課程,有的大學ranking重高的)

再講UEA都係屬於中游大學,認真讀相信唔難升上去

其實還要看課程內容是否合適自己。以我所知一些課程可能在中游大學才有，始終都要睇學生興趣。始終在香港讀 TOPUP 唔同在外國讀書的經歷和見識，不過都要考慮經濟問題。

You are only offered a foundation course. There is no guarantee that you can be admitted to iUEA' degree course.
I would choose Essex and aim to obtain a high 2:1 or 1.

有朋友的女兒幾年前在一間排名40幾的大學讀學士, 畢業之後再轉去LSE讀一年master, 佢話見工人家都是睇佢在LSE畢業, 之前學士學位那間排40幾的已不是問題, 所以我覺得不要太著重first degree大學的排名. (可能我個仔本身DSE成績不太好, 我沒有太大要求, 只想佢首要拿了張入場劵, 之後就條條大路通羅馬)

I would prefer Essex U, as the place is guaranteed. Difference in ranking of 20 will not affect the decision of future employer, except for top school.   a good degree in 2:1 or above will be preferred.
