my son aged 14 now and he asked me to send him to oversea study.
he said he want to go to US, but can not give me the reason why select USA ....

I actually planned to send him to UK after the DSE, but now , based on his requested, I might consider to send him out next year Sep 2015 for Year 11 ?? ( not sure if it is Year 11 .....)

he is not happy that I select UK for him, he said , he will not go if not USA...

headache.. any parents can share with me how is the best way to handle this....

Courses in the UK are shorter saving you time, and moreover, we have a relative in UK, so it will be more easy to help us to take care of him if any...

你仔比唔出充分理由為何要揀US，你咪同佢講而家去就只會比佢去UK，如果佢堅持而家只肯去US唔去UK，咁係佢自己選擇留港放棄去UK，咁咪跟番你原來planning繼續留港考完DSE先算！

我舉個例子

有個小朋友

在香港讀書時

有次, 個小朋友, 性格孤癖

有一天, 學校老師同佢講, 你性格 , 岩在美國發展

結果, 個小朋友, 就發夢, 天天要去美國

美國在多方面, 是世界強國,是事實

但, 去美國讀書, 你要考慮到, 財政夠不夠

且美國好的學校, 華人難入

佢為何要去美國? 讀完高中, 讀大學?

大學讀什麼科? 你有能力供去美國讀完大學嗎?

想清楚先, 否則讀讀下...唔夠錢讀完美國大學

到時怨你一世, 小心小心

在美國讀大學internation student 貴過英國讀大學, 美國四年大學, 除非讀2+2 (2 years community college + 2 years U), 可以少少

英國大學最平學費都加到GBP13000/Year , 成HK$170000, 20萬1年冇乜可能, 慳慳地30萬一年或者都可以既

looks like USA is not so expensive as what you mentioned HKD450K - 650K....or else the Agent information is not correct lor

I would say HK$500-600K a year for top US private universities like Ivy League or Stanford.... All top universities at East and West Coast are at similar costs. If agents say otherwise, they are not telling the truth.

其實只要從美國大學校網已經可以知道大約費用, 以UCLA 為例, 2014-2015 非加州學生, 學費, 宿舍及其他雜費估計耍USD56000 一年 (唔住學校宿舍可以平少少):

如果讀State U, 就可以平啲, 以California State U of LA 為例, 2014-2015 非加州學生, 學費, 宿舍及其他雜費估計耍USD32400 一年:
