Based on orevious years, the chances are quite high. I have heard of waitlist (or "reserved list") interviewees who passed the interview being offered a spot as early as March. Offers continue through the summer right up to August.
Basically what happens is once your child passes the interview, he/she goes in a "waitlist pool" and the order is based on the random number that was assigned to you on registration (they don't tell you what it is). As the confirmed interview applicants either don't pass the interview or refuse the offer, their spots go to this waitlist pool in the order of the random number assignments.
So there is an element of luck. However the school is usually quite good at predicting how many won't take the confirmed spot (expats moving, other school offers or those failing interview), and it is based on this that they offer the "reserved list" interviews. |
