第五日，今日背新文章，揀左 I Have a Dream 中 my four little childrn 果段，都係好短。今次比段易的，等佢有返 D 成就感，唔好打殘佢。最主要係想借 D 意同佢講下平等係乜野意思。講返當年巴士運動，問佢如果係佢佢會點做，問下佢會點樣評價同學等等。比起好成績，我更加希望佢可以成為一個有正義感的人。當然如果兩樣都得就最好啦。呢段無深字，一日就搞掂。睇佢模彷 Martin Luther King 語氣背出黎，非常搞笑。
第六日，今日係奧巴馬的 Election Night Speech，揀左 'To those who would tear the world down' 到 'unyielding hope' 一小段。難度唔高，但就長左，今次有成 80 字。講左講下恐怖主義之外，主要係比佢知道記憶力訓練入面 chunking 同 grouping 技巧。文章長唔緊要，只要分開一個個小節咁背，好快就會背哂。今次又係 3 個字出問題：tear, security, wealth。
'tear' 解撕裂要讀做 [tεə]，佢讀黎讀去都係眼淚 [tɪə]。無奈只好 list 出一堆帶 'ear' 的字，例如 bear, clear, dear, fear, gear, hear, Lear, near, pear, rear, tear (n), tear (v), wear 然後要佢分做 εə 同 ɪə 兩組。做左幾次，終於搞掂。
'security' 又係唔明點解讀極都係 se-coo-ri-ty，明明佢知道護衛係實Q，咁都讀唔到，唯有又係 cure, cute 咁話佢知，cu 好多時都係讀 [kjʊ]。
’wealth' 見到 ea 又係讀極都係 [i:] 音，又花左好耐時間糾正佢。
懷疑係佢細細個果陣讀 phonics 果陣，比左個錯誤觀念佢，以為某種串法就一定係咁讀，又或者佢偷懶只記其中一種讀法。但英文相對其他歐洲語言黎講，呢方面比較無系統，有時真係要死記，功多藝熟。讀書果陣老師用一首叫 Chaos 的詩說明相同串法唔同發音的問題，但太長。搵到第二首淺 D 的，遲 D 要佢背埋：
I take it you already know
Of tough and bough and cough and dough?
Others may stumble, but not you
On hiccough, thorough, slough, and through.
Well don't! And now you wish, perhaps,
To learn of less familiar traps.
Beware of heard, a dreadful word
