Ron, it really depends on what type of International primary & secondary school you are aiming for:Are you opting for IS with very little Chinese teaching, such as Kellet, DBIS, ESF, GSIS?
or the IS with mild mandarin Chinese teaching, such as CDNIS, HKIS, CAIS?
or the IS with bilingual Chinese teaching, such as CIS, SIS, ISF, YCIS, VIctoria?
As different kindergartens might lead to certain schools listed above, it is hard to generalize. I think the best thing you can do is to determine the amount of chinese you want your child be exposed to (now and in the future), and pick a kindie that can cater to your current and future needs. You can even ask the school during open day for a list of the schools their kids graduates to. That should give you a better idea; some have the list on their website already (such as Victoria).
For example, when i found out Victoria has very little students going into the first two categories of schools listed above, and my aim is that category, that i know Victoria would not be my first choice, although many people really want to get in. Of course, it also depends on your child's daily cultural exposure as well (ie. it'd be hard for a child to get into ESF primary even when she goes to ESF kindie, if the parents speaks chinese to her all day long; that's a real case) Think hard about what kind of school/life you want / can provide for your child, before you decide on a suitable kindergarten.
[if any of the above categorization is incorrect, please bear with me, as i know HKIS parents would stress that their level of chinese is the same as CIS; but do feel free to voice out too so that i can learn more as well, many thanks!]
