應該俾5歲仔仔學邊樣先好?

佢突然話2樣都想學, 但係我只想佢先學其中一樣!

Piano shuold be better. Violin is too difficult for a kids to learn at 5 years old. Violin is much much harder than piano at the very beginning of the learning curve.

My son started learning both violin and piano since he was four. Personally there was no big difference in the degree of difficulty to my son (Perhaps I am not too demanding). I would think the physical constraint would be even lesser as your son is already 5.

However, if I could only choose one instrument for my son, I would probably choose violin. This is because playing violin may perhaps be less lonely and easier to participate in a group. Even in a long term to change to other "string" instrument or even join the youth orchestra.

My daughter started piano at 5 years old and started violin at 6.  She had no problem reading the notes and could pick up the skill easily when she started violin.  My daughter said violin is easier than piano because you just need to read one set of notes while you have to read different notes for different hands for piano.  But for the beginning, piano is easier to pick up.

我覺得如果音感好的可以學小提琴先都冇所謂,但如果唔係就學鋼琴先,對學小提琴有幫助 ka.....

我想得很遠, 如果兩樣都學, 一齊上到六級以上, 邊有咁多時間.  請問有何心得! 我個細女學緊弦樂, 但想學琴, 但當我想到學得高級時, 每日每樣一個鐘都死啦, 唔駛返學做家課咩! 仲有, 入string band又係要花時間, 點頂!!!

請指教!

Assume before F3 completed string instrument, then take piano, it seems 到轉來行.  我覺得睇琴譜係較難, 有兩行. 但其他都係睇一行. 中三後學琴, 左手會比較因難, 而當8級時, 可能又要面對入大學的考試, 時間好難分配.

哈里波特,

Yes, I really don't know whether my son can manage two instruments at the same time later. Perhaps he would tell me what he prefers when the time comes. Anyhow, my son has only practised the two instrument for a year. So far, he is not too busy and I'm not that pushy. In fact, I haven't set any timetable that he needs to achieve Grade 5 or Grade 8 and I'm not too eager for him to take exams.

"complete" means finished certificate stage.  Of course, they can continue to take diploma, degree or master, but this is the only requirement I pre-set to my kids.  I hope they can complete certificate level at least.

This is a good idea, major & minor approach.
