My son started at the age of four. However, the teacher had interview my son to see if he was capable to start off.

BTW, how old is your child?

It really depends. One-to-one training and famous tutor would probably cost higher. Group training may be cheaper.

In my case, my son is taking a course of a group. It costs $800 per month for 1 hr training each week.

I learn from most of the music co. like Tom Lee that the minimun age to learn violin is six year old. They perfer the student to be 8 or higher year old.

I once read an aricle wrote children can start learning violin at 4yrs old. I know an neighbour's son is learning this (4yrs old).

I talked to my friend who teaches piano and studied music in university that she said childrens' hands are still too small to play violin at 4yrs old. Some with bigger hands may be better. However, children can start learning theory at 3-4yrs old.

I think it depends on the children themselves.

同意maria_lai 所講，真係要看小朋友。

其實除了身體的準備，思想的準備都好重要，例如小朋友喜不喜歡那件樂器，知道是要練習的...

我見過一個小朋友，佢由第一堂學就哭，甚至走出教室，三幾堂就唔學喇，最怕就係第曰佢怕
