《美國新聞與世界報道》公布2013年「全美最佳中學名單」，在全部21,000所中學中，僅得4,805所分別獲金、銀及銅獎。

詳情如下：

本欄今期刊出的全美中學「50大」，就中頭15名獲100分滿分。換言之，這15所名牌學堂，不論用IB或AP成績計算，都是全美最優。如果獲得取錄，令郎╱令千金有機會考入頭幾名明星大學，如哈佛、麻省理工、賓夕凡尼亞、普林斯頓及耶魯等遐邇馳名的高等學府，不亦快哉！

「全美中學50大」名單上，排第三名的Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology 和第五名的 Basis Scottsdale最值得品題。這兩所中學去年還寂寂無聞，今年竟然雙雙闖入五名內，真是不鳴則已，一鳴驚人。

名牌中學學費不會廉宜，那是意料中事，夏里巴信手拈來的一個例子，就是過往曾排過全美第2，今年仍排16名的Oxford Academy，這所名牌中學的宿生全年( 9月至翌年6月)學費連食宿，一共是54,900美元。這所名校最大特色是設有特別班，專輔助學員報考全美10名內的明星大學，家長們趨之若鶩，盡在不言中。
