What is your view on CIS's one-year-Hangzhou-Programme? My colleague's kid got an offer but she turned it down because of the programme (I understand that all newly admitted have to spend one year in Hangzhou to better their Chinese).

Are the first batch there now or are they still testing it with non-CIS students? I think it is a great idea if executed properly. But when I attended a CIS info session, one odd thing they said was students will be taking classes separate from the local students. I would be interested to learn more about the degree of social interactions between the two groups. But it is such early days, I would imagine the jury is still out?

I'm not familiar with CIS. All that I heard is that all grade 10 students must spend a year in Hangzhou.

The first batch of year 10 will go to HZ in Aug/Sept 2013. It is still not mandatory for students to go there. But all new students admitted in 2012 onwards are mandatory.
