紐約肯定是哥倫比亞大學。紐約大學商學院也不差。新澤西就是普林斯頓。如果讀醫，康內爾大學醫學院也在八十四街。
去新澤西讀兩年社區學院，然後選擇紐大應該較易入。

一般大學是以usnews。com排名的。當然每科各大學都各自有長處。建議去以上網站看下。

是建築設計Architecture還是土木建築civil engineering?一個偏文科，一個偏工科。
建築設計：U of Virginia (due to Thomas Jefferson), Columbia U (in NY)
土木建築：U of Illinois
當然傳統工科名校：MIT, CIT都好好。

I think you have only been looking at their national university rankings. There are separate rankings for other types of schools. Suggest you take a look at the other lists as well.

一般來講，undergrad講National ranking. Grad school先講專科ranking.

One more piece of information. If you are looking at a specialized field, usually in graduate school, you'd better check the grad school ranking under the usnews website as well. For example, Rockefeller University's (New York) medicine Nobel Price winners are probably more than Princeton's physics Nobel winner. Not many people know about Rockefeller Univ unless working in the field.
In general, checking national ranking would be fine for undergrad students.
