If the child is not an ESF kindergarten pupil, the chances of h ... I think you are right. It's just that my understanding is that there are two streams - the regular pool (with the confirmed and waitlisted places) and the 150 nomination rights seats (spread over all the schools, so each school has 10-12 seats roughly across all grade levels.
Based on this rational, it sounds like the school is suggesting the student move from her waitlist place in the first pool to the second NR pool. Now, based on previous years, the first (main) pool have always had a high percentage of acceptance, once u pass their interview, even if its a waitlist space - meaning you have to be a bit patient. The other thing is, this isn't one of the more popular ESF (like KJS) either - this was the Peak school, which I suspect may not have as many NR applicants.
Just seems to me that ESF appears to have become more money-minded and opportunistic than what I'd previously observed.
