An I Can Read Book的"Frog and Toad"系列, 小囡每次閱讀, 讀到toad的愚蠢舉止, 都會笑到ka ka 聲. 有時仲要我和她一起模仿d silly對白添!

Oxford Learning Tree and Frog and Toad - where to buy, how much, stuitable for what age and does the book come from category like stage 1 or 2 as Ladybird.

最近在大x書局見到有Oxford Story Tree套裝(連activity books and CD), 由Level 1 - Level 7都有.
(請留意: 是Story Tree, 而唔係Reading Tree, 略略望過下, 兩者內容相同, 分別只在於tense)

Frog & Toad by Arnold Lobel, 程度屬於Reading with help 2, 雖然是chapter book, 但文字淺白, 字體大隻, 有圖畫(不過顏色不算鮮艷), 在Page One及Swindon都有得賣, $34/本, 每本64版(所以好抵睇

)

中文書我就在公共圖書館借一套叫做 "我自己會讀" 系列給我五歲囝囝看, 內容簡易, 字體大, 彩色圖畫, 由淺入深, 而且每頁會重復文字令小朋友加深印象.

Oxford Reading Tree 我都是在圖書館借, 囝囝很喜歡, 而且往往讀過一兩次後, 他對內容及文字有很深的印象.

近年, 我很少買書, 但每星期都會帶囝囝去圖書館看書, 讓他自己尋找自己喜愛的書藉.

I suggest a BLACK CAT serious readers published by Commercial Book (商務印書君), level from1 to 6, each level contains 6-7 books.  Those story is famous and traditional.  Those books are available for sale at popular (大眾) or 三聯($45/book)

The books infact contain quite a lot of words, but some of the words is easy for kids.  So I can read together w/ my son.  Whenever we come across those words he known, I let him say it out.

Also, each book have one CD enclosed, it is read and narrated by native speakers and in differenct castings' voice. The speed is not so fast at all.

In fact, this serious of books is designed for Primary to Secondary students.  My son now interested in level 1 or 2.  He even interested in those higher level, but when he saw so many words, he would rather buy it in later time or ever years.

It seems all you have suggested are all good readers. My daughter, studying in P.2, presently is reading the Ladybird series. There are many different series from Ladybird. We've bought the "Key words" series, 36 books altogether. Words increase for each level. She is reading 7a now. And there is the "Read it yourself" series, from level 1 to level 4. My daughter can read level 4 without much difficulties so she is now trying "My favouite tales" series, with more words and vocabularies than " Read it yourself" and I found a newer series called "Classics", all about the Disney's favouites stories. Actually most of these can be borrowed from the public libraries except "Classics" whcih is too new, but of course not complete.

Hi DESP,

Thank you for your sharing. In fact my son has also ready the Ladybird book, series like "Read with me" and also the "Key Words". He is reading the 4a, b, c now. I havent't bought all the 36 altogether, we only bought from 3a, than series by series I thought.
Anyway, thanks again.
Any good recommendations in the future, please let us know.
