Is it good? My impression is that it is very child-centred and has many activities, which I like. Yet I want my child to learn more English. We mainly use Cantonese at home. I worry that my child can't learn much English from their curriculum. Any parent can share? much appreciate it.
My kid is studying at YCIS kindergarten and it is really a good school providing a good environment for language. The alma, teachers are all nice ! My kid loves going to school a lot!

Wow, it is great to meet abebepang here. would you mind sharing more about the language learning in YCIS? You speak English with your child at home? I mainly use Cantonese at home. So not sure whether the English environment in YCIS is sufficient or not. Thx.
I must say I didn't regret choosing this school for my kid. There are one NET, two cantonese speaking teachers plus one assistant in the class.
They provide a natural Eng & Cantonese speaking environment for the kids through daily activities. ( but of course it depends on how your kid interacts with each teacher ).
Abebeoang thanks for your information. I agree with you it depens on how the child interact with the teachers. I can imagine my child will only talk to the cantonese teachers as he can only understand cantonese. Abebepang, so you speak English with your child?
hi eatwong or anyone else,
how long was the wait before your child got accepted to YCIS ITLP (6 month to 2 yr) program? I have a 4 months old- if I apply now when can I expect my child to be able to start school, if she gets accepted? (I applied for the 2013/2014 year, but am wondering if I should apply for the following year 2014/2015 instead?)
my son is attending 3 y.o programme this year. he joined 2 y.o half day classes last year and enjoyed school a lot. we speak to him in cantonese at home yet he did pick up a lot of english from school - from both teachers and classmates. my son is better at listening than at speaking. i think it's ok as he's gradually absorbing more and more.
btw, the class teacher said something that really syn with my belief. she said that their way of teaching is to blend learning in their daily lives. only by doing so can the kids truly learn. kids from other school may be able to show you a large vocabulary, but it's not lasting.
if u believe that learning is life-time, YCIS is one of the best school to send kids to!
