Dear parents,
There are in total 6 categories for S1 allocation:
(1) DP (Discretionary Places, i.e. 自行分配)
(2) Central Allocation - Section A (unlimited disctrict)
(3) Central Allocation - Section B (Southern district) Open Spaces
(4) Central Allocation - Section B (Central & Western district) Open Spaces
(5) Central Allocation - Section B (Central & Western district) Feeder Places (i.e. for SHCSPS & SHCS only)
(6) Repeaters
Total Seats = seats per class * number of classes = 34 * 6 = 204
Below is the method of calculation:
(1) DP
= Total seats * 30%
= 204 * 30%
= 61.2
=> 61
Remarks: Please note that DP of SHCC is non-open and for SHCSPS & SHCS students + invitation only
(6) Repeaters
= 2 seats * number of classes
= 2 * 6
= 12
Total of (2) + (3) + (4) + (5) = All of Central Allocation places
= Total seats - (1) DP - (6) Repeaters
= 204 - 61 - 12
= 131
(5) Central Allocation - Section B (Central & Western district) Feeder Places
= All of Central Allocation places * 85%
= 131 * 85%
= 111.35
=> 111
Open Spaces = Total Seats - (1) - (6) - (5) = 20 = (2) + (3) + (4)
(2) Central Allocation - Section A (unlimited disctrict)
= Open Spaces * 10%
= 20 * 10%
= 2
(4) Central Allocation - Section B (Central & Western district) Open Spaces
= Remaining Open Spaces * 10% = (20 - 2) * 10% = 1.8 => 2
(3) Central Allocation - Section B (Southern district) Open Spaces
= Remaining Open Spaces= 20 - 2 - 2 = 16
