如果我俾個女去國際幼稚園讀完兩年, 佢可唔可以讀番 / 考番local既小學呢 ? 又或者佢讀完國際學校既小學, 有無可能讀番local既中學呢 ?? 請問有無媽咪知道 ?? 唔該晒 :wink:

Depends which kinder la, some run programs in K2 and K3 matching local primary schools, while some match with international primary. Your question is too general.

點樣轉都可以, 但小朋友不想, 他們會適應的辛苦D.我個小朋友就不想轉回LOCAL的中學了.

Thanks for your response. 我可再問得深入一d, 希望你地可幫幫我....

我準備幫個女報左新加坡國際, 希望佢可以係自然既環境學好英文&國語, 係語言方面打好d個底, 到佢係準備考小一既時候, 可以有足夠既競爭力去考一d好既本地小學 (因為我知有一d小學係用英文面試的), 呢個係我以為幾好既安排, 唔知我有無諗錯, 希望各位可以指教一下.....

另一個原因係我唔想等佢去到讀小學先至要谷佢語文 (眼見很多親戚的子女要為英文及普通話參加幾個補習班惡補, 好痛苦), 因為我覺到時佢會好辛苦而我又痛苦, 但係大前題係有無小朋友可以係國際學校讀完幼稚園再參加"小一派位"或考番本地小學呢 ?

當然, 我相信我好大機會會俾佢繼續讀國際學校既小學, 但係人算不如天算, 如果到時真係唔可以繼續俾佢讀上國際學校既中學, 甘佢有無可能讀番本地既中學呢 ? 我識得一位auntie, 佢個女以前係讀marymount中學的, 佢有個同學仔就係係新加坡國際考去marymount讀中學的. 但係我唔知而家或將來仲得唔得呢 ~~~

另外, 我記得yyyy既小朋友係好似讀新加坡國際的 (唔知有無記錯), 甘佢地係香港無中學的, 而且又係行新加坡學制, 甘到中學時點算 ??

妳的記性真她,我的小朋友是讀SIS小學,記得當年我和妳的想法是一樣,所以都有自行幫她參加政府的小一派位,仲特別搬去名校區住,希望可以派的好D,不過原來名校區減了一半男校,可以選擇不多,而且很多校友,兄弟姊妹正讀該校,所以第一ROUND很難,不過記得當年自己都不想她派到,因擔心很難決定,不想浪費2年的英文和國語TUNE,而且她讀得很開心,一定想繼續在原校就讀的,我知道隔離班有個男仔派到一間很出名的男校,就轉了去讀,我個小朋友個班大都份都繼續上一年班,(SIS幼稚園和一年班是同一班人,二年班才分散).....Lunch後再續....

I agree with your approach, I believe there is no problem for your kid to join local primary if the English and Chinese standards of the Int'l school are good. Int'l school normally will not join the govt primary and secondary school allotment system, so the kids have to apply for the target primary or secondary through passing the entry exams.

I personally prefer selecting a school (either local or international) with primary and secondary, which is more secured as I never know how my kid performs during the 6-year primary. I am not familiar with Singaporean system, I think you can check from the school their distribution of P.6 students.

Just curious, will the kids from SIS speak with Singaporean accent?

這點我想yyyy比我更清楚吧, 因為她的小朋友在sis讀.....
以我所知, 佢地既老師都係native english speaker, 我個朋友係新加坡人, 佢曾經係呢間國際學校interview過想當老師, 佢叫我唔駛擔心佢地英文accent, 一定無問題喎......

其實我覺得accent真係唔太影響英文既表達能力, 試諗下淨係英國, 美國, 澳洲, 加拿大等方甘大都有好多當地既人講唔同accent, 佢地咪一樣溝通得到, 好似我個singaporean朋友, 佢都係singapore受教育, 我真係聽唔出佢既英文有咩口音, 而且佢係香港大部份既朋友都係來自唔同地方既人, 都一樣溝通得到...... (好似離題了....heehee)

其實我考慮俾佢讀國際學校, 係想佢而家細細個吸收事物同埋學野最快既時候學好英文, 將來面對用英文教既科目時都唔駛俾"英文"做左絆腳石, 學起其他科目上黎都有信心同埋事半功倍...... (呢d都係我既愚見, 又唔知呢個諗法0岩唔0岩)

I agree with you that languages have to be taught as eary as possible. My elder girl studied in local kinder and attended some English classes once a week since K2, but the effect is not very good. My younger girl studies in international kinder, and she learns English very quickly, can speak complete sentences already now (she is still under 3). However, I think the same applies to Chinese learning, and Chinese is even more difficult than English. So it is better to find a school with balance in both languages.

同意balance learning.....

新加坡國際有中文學, 不過係用普通話教, 而且寫既係簡體字, 但係我諗簡體字將來係香港會越來越普遍 (我亞嫂係港島一間名校教中學, 佢都話而家佢d學生好多都有寫簡體字的), 這方面我都唔係太擔心, 而另外廣東話就一定無問題啦, 佢平時都係同我地講廣東話, 同賓賓先至講英文......

Dear all,
I do agree that kids could learn language very fast when they are very young. my daughter is 26 months old now. She could speak few words (both cantonese and English) when she was 2 years old. She stays with me in UK since Nov, this year and has attended a local nursery for 1 month. I would say her progress is really fast in these 3 months. She used to say complete sentences now.

May i know how old is yr daughter? Have u considered to apply other international schools besides SIS? I am thinking of the applications to an international kindies for my daughter as well...I like SIS too but I dont want to face another pressure (for me)when she has finished her primary school. I have a friend who has a son studying in Canadian IS and commented the school is also very good. I have another friend, her son is studying in CIS, Both his english and Putonghau impress me very much.Knowing that the competition for this school is really keen, I have never thought that my daughter is smart enough to get accepted.

我的想法和你都一樣,我打箅讓我仔讀國際學校 KINDER, 跟住小學讀 local Primary. 因為我相信語言越早學越容易, 眼見很多家長花很多錢給小朋友捕習英文效果不大,我另願佢將D時間打波或學其他野好過, 不過唔知佢到時會唔會忘記所有 tone, 我打算讓他讀 Victoria Primary 或一D直資小學, In fact, many local school started to run IB progrom., like Victoria, 培僑, 浸會小學. They employ naive English and Mandarine speakers. My husband and me still want him to learn more chinese. We can not afford the international school fee for both sons. I'm not worry he can not adapt the local school. 我自己也只是讀了一年 kinder, 停學一年. 跟住讀小學, 很快就適應,

係中西區黎講, 呢間kinder同埋佢一條龍既小學同中學口啤好似係幾好, 不過我覺得一間學校都要同家長&小朋友本身既性格配合至得到好既效果......
其實考入呢間kinder之前, 我個女係一間唔出名既國際幼稚園讀pre-nursery的, 佢開心我又開心; 當時我同佢講中文, 無教佢英文(因為我自己都唔係幾好), 佢識既都係學校學同埋我個賓姐教的; 考到呢間幼稚園我都係考慮好耐至俾佢讀的, 但係讀左4個月, 我發覺個女無以前0甘活潑, 無0甘喜歡同我講學校既事, 佢既轉變另我其他既家人都察覺到; 另外我考慮到好多唔同人既意見, 因為家裡有2位成員係做老師的, 另外有些朋友既女係聖心讀過幼稚園&讀緊中學, 而0甘0岩我個女之前讀果間國際幼稚園有好多聖心既學生係度補習英文, 收集到各方意見後, 我考慮幫佢轉校....(不過都要睇佢考唔考到sis至得)

我相信一所名校可以成為名校, 在該校就讀子女的家長一定付出不少, 老實講, 我係一位幾唔喜歡教小朋友做家課, 溫習功課的家長, 我比較喜歡同佢講時事, 天南地北多一些, 眼見d親屬要為佢地既仔女安排好多補習, 仲要為佢請假溫習考試, 因為緊張成績而攪到壓力好大, 家長再將壓力付加係個小朋友身上, 我真係唔多願意.............

對我來講, 名校唔一定係好學校, 好學校唔一定係名校, 最重要"balance", 另我個小朋友可以係自然, 愉快, 輕鬆(但不至於放縱)既環境學習, 我覺得可以事半功倍, 從而推動佢既"自動波", 另佢喜歡主動學習, 呢個係我好ideal既想法, 鋪好條路等佢自己行, 往後既日子我只希望guide住佢, 唔駛迫佢...
(我成日都懷疑自己0甘諗究竟0岩唔0岩....

Have you considered Victoria as well? They have kinder upto primary and will have secondary soon. They teach both English and Mandarin, I heard that kids studying there are very happy. Fees are reasonable, and they are not international school. It is on HK side, so may suit your needs. Just a suggestion.
