Provided that new school participating in the secondary school allocation for the first time will be automatically assigned with the standard % - 1/3 band 1, 1/3 band 2, 1/3 band 3, Lingnan DSS has performed satisfactorily in that its band 1% is above 40% and band 2% is not low either. I remember that even TSL didn't do well during its first several years, but it continued to perform well in recent years. So, please give Lingnan DSS more time to improve.
My best friend's son studies at this school (that's why I'm a bit biased towards this school, I admit that) and my friend appreciates it very much in various aspects. Too bad he is not fond of making comments on the web, so I'm doing the job for him.
One additional note: the result of 中一編班試 plays a very critical role in determining the band1% of the school for P6 students of the following year. To excel in this exam, students inevitably need to practice more. But "craming" is not quite in line with what this school's philosophy. It will take a lot of trial and error to strike a balance between attaining good exam results and keeping the school away from "cramming". One cruel reality is that without good secondary school results, the school will never be considered a good primary school, period.
