Hi everyone!

Can anyone tell me something about West Island School? Has it got a good academic reputation? What would you say about this school compared to the others such as Singapore International School, Canadian International School, Chinese International School and German Swiss International School?

It really comes down to your child's strengths and interests.  Some schools focus on academics.  Some schools encourage students to develop creativity and imagination.  I work with students from all these schools and they have very different goals and personalities.

Thank you so much!

But if I am a very hard working student and have been doing relatively well in my GCSE, do you think West Island School would be a good option for me? e.g. are the teachers there keen to teach and offer help?

How about the students there? Does anyone know whether the students at this school can get into good universities or not? Thank you so much, once again!!

You should try harder and doing extremely well.  As passing with flying colours is just a necessary but not sufficient condition for top universities.

Yes, I do understand what you mean...

Although my academic results are relatively good, but I always think that I need much more than simply grades... e.g. social skills... But it has been quite difficult, as I often spend the majority of the time available on revision and reading news. And it seems that I cannot communicate with some of my friends very well as they like talking about Japanese cartoons, while I know nothing about them, but would like to talk about news, history and politics... How do you think I should improve on this? Thanks

I used to love watching Japanese cartoons when I was in HK, but then my results got worse and worse so I decided to go overseas to study extremely hard... So I spend most of my time studying... but then my social skills suffer!

Well, I thought you have already got an 'kind offer" as per your words from German Swiss.  Its a very good school.  As for your concern on your social skills, just make friends with those with  similar interests.  It doesnt matter if you cant make friends with those who are only interested in Japanese cartoons.  How old are they?
