Mrsslui,

My elder girl is already studying in subsidiary primary school la, but I am thinking a different route for my younger girl, ie. DSS, yet I think the last resort can still be going into her sister's school if the point system has not changed a few years later... Has to see how well the girl is doing going forward...

I know some of my friends with 2 kids also find different schools for the 2 different kids.

In yr case, u can walk in this way.
If for some parents with elder one is an active one, the younger one is passive one. how cld they choose!
The 小一派位制 has many many problems, right?

我有兩個仔, 一個文靜 , 10歲, 一個活潑, 9 歲, 大仔因為文靜, 由幼維園開始巳經激死老師, 因為人人搶答問題, 但他一於少理, 我問他是否不懂, 他說他巳答了.....在心中, 吹漲...
細仔未問完巳經答了你的問題, 有多冇少, 創意無限...
大仔令人急急急, 怎辦??? 唯有帶他多的參加課外活動, 多的群體生活, 見識見識. 細仔呢, 哈哈, 千方百計要找到可以令他坐定定的東西, 訓練專注力. 一個活躍的孩子, 專注力是很重要的.
所以做父母的, 如有兩個唔同style 的孩子, 記得要時時轉 Channel.

What types of activities have you arranged for the active boy? I try to let my elder girl (also very active) to play piano, but no use at all! She just do her gymnastics all day, like a monkey at home! :-|

其實都要睇佢興趣, 好似比puzzle 大仔, 發達啦, 可以坐你半日. 比細仔, 砌2塊, 3塊...係咁先啦拜拜. 再比佢砌模型, 啋你都傻!
不過千祈唔好氣餒, 一定要有耐性, 慢慢試, 實"穩"到

其實我想問你地認為D被動,凡事三思而後行,上述被評為'智慧型'的人,會唔會係'無自信'呢?佢地要好有把握先去做.

Hi Mimi_ma & Mrssslui,

我個女同你地個女簡直一模一樣，現在讀K2, 仲要係細女，我正煩惱為她選擇傅統定活動教學小學，亦考慮會否讓她repeat做大女，你們會否覺得太文靜, 被動及唔出聲的小朋友會往往容易被老師忽略，特別一些學校會是over 30人一班？

Mrssslui,

I agree with you, so I put my younger girl in a activity type kinder with small class with caring teachers, so she can have more chance and be encouraged to speak out more. This seems to work as previously she was very quiet and passive when she was studying in a kinder with large class, but now she is much more outgoing and speak out more in the small class.

If join the traditional type of school, there may not so much chance to allow kids speaking out. So for your son, may not be suitable to put him in traditional type school, can see if some DSS such as 優才 (楊殷有娣)學校 at TKO can fit him.

I think for this type of kids, if we can help them establish self-confidence, they will be very good at school with their intelligence.

Mrssslui,

I think I mix up your 2 kids as my case is opposite to yours. I am referring to your passive kid, so should be your elder girl. Anyway, 優才 is a DSS which has one dragon now, primary to secondary. It emphasize on finding the best from your kids, and help them to develop their talents to their best. I don't know too much about the school, I only feel that the objectives of this DSS is quite good, and may fit for either active or passive child. They have smaller classes for study.

There are also some other DSS schools at TKO, maybe you can take a look from the primary school website and ask more details from the schools to see which fits your criteria and whether your kid likes it.

For subsidiary or govt schools, we have to select school based on the point system or home address, so not much choice.
