York English Primary School and Kindergarten, which is seeking to move one of its campuses from 8 York Road to nearby Essex Crescent, has been ordered by the landlord, who bought the land last year, to vacate the York Road site by Monday.

The new school campus will be at 2 essex crescent road...the school is still in construction. Heard that the new school is still awaiting approval of license from TPB.

o...news updated?.....why the school need to withdraw the application....?TPB in the few applications before.....they accepted the approval but with conditions......the school just need to fullfil the conditions will be OK...I don't understand..... even there are citizen refuse the proposal recently..... however, the principle proposal has been long discussed and accepted long time ago, the refusal of citizen should not have that power and make the TPB to reject the proposal basically acceptable, do think that, the land owner(should has his right to apply section 16 for change of land use!

I just notice from this news that:

"The kindergarten had planned to convert the house on a residential site at Essex Crescent into 10 classrooms and four activity rooms, accommodating 560 pupils, 30 per cent more students than at the present York Road campus."

I thought it is "one replace one", but didn't expect that it's an expansion to accommodate more pupils. No wonder there is reason for TPB to reject the application.

Can the school be less aggressive by bargaining just replace the existing number of student size to the new campus? e.g. if only 5 classes in York 8, just move that 5 classes to new campus, but not add more classes in new campus???
