OVERALL STANDARD
KTS is high demanding school both in discipline and academic but most of the teachers or staff are patient and friendly. All rounded education provided to students in areas of sports, music and academic training. Your kid will not be left from the groups as he/she must get involved with either one of these fields based on individual talents. School supports the extra-curriculum activities a lot as there will be free of charge school bus provided to those students who participate during weekdays, but of course the prerequisite is that you are already the school bus service user.
The standard in English, Chinese and Maths are higher. English is being taught for 1 grade ahead whilst Maths is 1/2 grade ahead. Chinese will be taught at P.1 grade but the textbooks which they adopted are more advanced. Such arrangement may be good or bad which subject to your judgment and your children's capabilities. The workload of homework is reasonable with 2 - 3 pcs daily. Instead, they will have a lot of training and classworks in the lessons. Normally, my girl can finish them around half to 1 hour. There are not too many dictation at P.1 which normally once or half a MONTH!
KTS stresses very much on reading habbits to their students. Students there are quite energetic and self-motivation. As far as I come across, most parents are very friendly and acted partners rather than competitors when exchanging ideas on our children’s learning capabilities and progress.
DRAWBACKS
The major drawback of KTS is without secondary school connection but the school told parents in the welcome talk that they would consider about it. Second, personally I still feel that they adopted Chinese language approach in general, for example, all memo, timetable or letters issued in Chinese from school which I think that they could be written in Bil-languages. However, the teacher academic qualifications background are strong and sound. There are totally 3 NETs at school currently. Third, you have to pay 6-year tuition fee.
