According to last year, all applicants could attend a 3-hour written test. Then about early August few applicants were selected to a 2nd in including a reading test to the child, and the principal interviewed parents. But no one knows finally how many girls being accepted. Only one successful candidate reported in baby kingdom. I believe she must be very very very smart!
What? Three-hour written test? Is it A-level examination? 3 hours = one half day session for a kid. It's too harsh to expect a kid to concentrate well within these 3 hours.
Actually should be less than 3 hours because there is a break after the children complete one subject. (There are totally 3 papers - Chi, Eng, Maths). Teachers will ask if anyone needs to go to toilet, and let them drink water if necessary.
However, my daughter told me that last year she saw some girls cried as they told the teacher that they didn't know how to do!!
If it more acceptable to take an entry exam with high difficulty and shorter duration. Does a 3-hour exam for a 5 years old kid can REALLY distinguish all candidates' abilities? I am not sure!!!!
