My daughter now is studying International School Grade 2. Her English speaking is native. But her writing and spelling are very bad. Any moms suggest me to improve her? Any recommendations of tutors or tutor centre in Kow loon side? Many thanks!

Have you had her checked by a speech language pathologist for language processing deficit or dyslexia?

speaking & reading and writing are 2 different things. Many native American and British speak very fluently but have trouble with writing. Dyslexia is about transforming the speech (speaking) onto paper (ie writing)

It's best to check it out or consult with the Learning Support Teacher at school before wasting money on tutoring.

You are worry about her academic performance, right?

Does she read a lot? Reading makes improvement gradually. Ask your girl to write a few sentences after reading each book. Don't "teach" her. Let her write whatever she wants. Later on, you could discuss with her about the spelling and grammars. But don't push. Hard feeling creates resistance.

Just share my methods.
