Among the DSS schools we have applied for, St Paul's Boys released admission results before release of discretionary phase result, St Paul's Coed around the same day, DBSPD and Ying Wa after it.
You have 2 major scenarios to consider:
1. DSS offer first, then Discretionary
If you decide to accept the DSS offer, you will be disqualified in taking part in the discretionary phase and the lucky draw. You will be required to sign an undertaking to give up the chance of taking part in any space allocation of the EDB (i.e. discretionary+lucky draw). Even if you may still receive a discretionary offer afterwards (because the DSS may not have submitted your acceptance to EDB for processing in time), it will be cancelled and withdrawn.
2, Discretionary offer first, then DSS
Obviously you would accept the discretionary offer first if you do not have any offer yet at the time of the offer. When the DSS offer is given to you, you can choose which offer to give up before the deadline for registration in the DSS. If you decide to accept the DSS offer, again you will be required to give up the discretionary offer and the lucky draw.
One thing to note: even if you accept the discretionary offer, it will not stop any DSS from giving you an offer afterwards.
I hope the above helps.原帖由 BettyNov07 於 11-4-1 13:54 發表
