All good luck,選擇入學的也不要有hard feeling啊!
It is easy for parents to say the school should do this and that to improve the arrangements. If the school does not do so, it must be their fault because MANY parents said so.
I wish to clarify that I am not a die hard fan of SFA and I agree that a lot can be done to improve the selection process.
However, the school itself does have its own limitations. Manpower, resources, time......SFA is a private school, unlike other DSS, it is not "wealthy" at all and it is not fair to make comment like "mean (刻薄) to the parents / applicants". I noted that a few teachers got all wet (It was raining on the interview day) and their voices were coarse. I can imagine that they have been working very hard and I have nothing to complain.
In fact, I don't expect my child to be treated as a princess in a primary school. She needs to learn how to take care of herself and the others. First and foremost, she has to learn to get used to the school environment and overcome any difficulties that may arise. Old buildings, small campus, etc have never been my concerns. What worries me about her school life is whether she will learn "how to learn" and whether she will "love to learn".
Just wanna share my views. Perhaps we have different expectations on primary education.
I really believe that parents' perspective or observation on the application process and interview process is a "really good" indicator to see how the school treat kids, but not necessarily related to the "gradings and academic "achievement" of the schools
So, it all depends on the following factors:
1) your concerns on how the school culture is shaping your kid -
2) and how you and your kids will tune in the culture agree on the culture
3) and how you and your kid are able to counter part of the culture and accept the remaining culture
