Maybe "夾口供" carries a negative meaning for you, referring to lies or misleading statements. I only use it to mean "ensure consistency".
I understand that some parents may refrain from telling the child too much about the school application process, thinking the child may not understand. We, on the other hand, let our child be involved throughout the process, e.g. he understands the interviews are a decisive factor in the primary school selection process, so he would try his best and be as talkative as he could (whereas he is a rather quiet boy most of the time).
