Really? As far as I know, the Principal need to interview waiting list students before giving offer. The first round students just finished register on Monday, how come the Principal can select waiting list students, interviewed, gave offer and then asked them to register within few days? Any other waiting list students received the call from GH?

請問你是不是係02年中五畢業後，入讀美國community college 既associate degree，跟住先入UC Berkeley？唔該！因為我知香港好多學生都入美國community college ，跟住transfer去當地大學讀第三年！

哈里波特，我認識一個媽米個女上年考到入Good Hope，今年剛中一，佢係小學既掛名係尾尾，但讀一間九龍塘既英文私立小學，佢話佢個女數學科唔合格，因為唔識英文數。
佢話上年其中一個面試係家長面試，有d就老師in，有d就校長親自in，最後，佢同幾個都係讀私校的補習同學仔都係比校長in個d就收左，另外老師in個d同學仔（讀幾好既資助小學，成績好好）就唔收，唔知係米有關係。
你對女女好有信心呀！讀緊名小學？Band 1生？

我住o係Berkeley, California, o係三藩市東面..

美國o既中學教育同香港好唔同..
最大分別係冇文理分科(對哩樣野非常之痛恨... ), 學生相對地有非常之大o既自由度去選擇自己想讀o既科目... 冇香港咁著重死背死記... 亦冇一試定生死(就算sat炒o左入唔到大學, 重有community college哩條後路重新o黎過)
不過選校一定要好慎重, 美國o既中學差別好大, 可以"讀四年未用過個腦"但又科科A, 亦可以好大workload... 如果要揀, 最穩陣係揀名校（尤其o係加州, 因為之前睇過報告, 加州o既中學水平係最差o個幾個州之一), 同埋教會學校通常都比較有保證. 美國好多本地人都零願比貴學費讀私校.

我係02年會考之後去讀community college, 叫De Anza College, o係矽谷, 讀兩年之後再transfer 入uc berkeley. 雖然好多人都話間間cc都差唔多, 但我可以好肯定咁講, 其實讀邊間可以有好大差別, 除非你o既目標係"入任何一間大學". 首先加州大學偏好收返o係大學附近o既cc, 同埋每間cc o既課程未必完全一樣, 出名o既cc通常課程都會比較深入/難 (但de anza同ucb o既程度仍差一大截...)... 所以唔係每間大學都接受所以cc o既"相對課程". 例如De Anza同Foothill College雖然係姊妹學校, 但uc只接受de anza o既部份computer science course, 而完全不接受foothill o既computer science. (de anza亦係全美國入ucb eecs 機會最高o既學校.. ucb eecs每年大約只係o係所有community college之中收十名左右o既留學生, 其中起碼有4-5名o係由de anza過去o既.. 所以選校好重要.. 至於想入ucla就必選Santa Monica College). 讀cc o既好處主要有三個, 第一可以慳兩年學費(仲有兩年時間打多d工搵定入o左u之後o既學費... 因為留學生o既學費真係好貴... 例如加州大學每年大約要US$25000, 其他私校亦大約要US$28000-US$40000). 第二可以慳一年時間(直入美國大學起碼要中六學歷). 第三係容易入名校. 重幾何時UC Berkeley, Stanford哩d學校對大部份香港學生係幾咁遙不可及? 只問對某科o既興趣能力絕對足夠入讀, 但偏偏因為自己英文程度唔夠高考SAT 700分, 被哩d學校拒諸門外? 哩個就係讀cc o既好處... 可以"一雪前恥", 完成自己o既夢想...

讀其他科我唔知.. 但讀工程必選美國... 因為哩邊資源同質素真係好好... 不過完來o係所有大學... 讀機電工程/電腦o既女仔都只得5-10%... 嗯... 哩樣應該係令我最失望o既地方

My friend's was called by GHS on Wednesday by phone. They tell her that they can offer a placemant for her daughter. She registered on Thursday morning. My friend told her that there were a few patients registered at the same time. May be, her daughter was at the top of the list. Usually, the headmistress will interview the wait-listed children in June if there are lots of vacancy

算係名小學, 是band 1生. 個女當日interview, 其中一part 是四人一起計數, 但同一校服新舊校共佔三人. 佢地學校好似都有成around 10 students to interview. Total 85 students having interview chance. 我唔知見的是否校長!! 日後程度是否跟得上, 好難講. 我覺得係個細路識唔識"霖". 小朋友潛在很大的力量, 只要好好利用, 個個都係天才. 收我--很高興, 唔收--亦不會失望, 因為真係有一定的負擔. 當然希望找到一間唔駛$的好學校, 但似乎很難, 好的都轉了直資.

180? Incredible. As I heard, only 80 wow. Also, people always told me that usually waiting list students can get offer eventually. Last year my friend's daughter studying in St Cat got rejected letter but finally she also had offer. Anyway, no people confirmed the number of waiting lists.

My friend told me that you need to send letters to GHS from time to time esp after the lucky draw, just to let GHS know that you are still interested to their offer. Otherwise, they may not contact you again. My friend told me that her daughter attend the 2nd int. a few days later after she contacted them in June, 04.

Thanks. Did your friend's daughter admitted eventually? I've tried to call GH and they refused to tell me how many waiting list students altogether.

Thanks! I hope so!!! Actually, she got offer from KRS and KTSPS. To the worst case, I will let her study in KTSPS as I quite like this school.

Don't worry! If you give the letter from time to time, you will finally be offered a place. I know that many parents will withdraw the offer. You can even offered the place in August next year
