I think boarding is an extra special experience for a P6 child, it could train up them to be more independent, just one year jer!

Heard from my friend that starting last year, the school required successful candidates' parents to sign and commit that they will not join lucky draw, furthermore, starting this year, there will be 2 rounds of interview (2nd round with parents), so it's getting harder to enter into sscps . So if this your optimal choice, do well make use of your connection.
But this is not your cup of tea, then just give it a try yourself.
Honestly speaking, if parents could afford to pay a couple of thousands (technically speaking, more than at least 6K for tuition and misc expenses), I'm not surprised to see this phenomena, this is applicable to other schools with high tuitions fees!
