My son is now learning piano in Parson. Teacher praises him clever and pay attention in the class. He scores many A every time. However, when in home, it is total different. He doesn’t want to practice. He never self-initiated practicing. We need to ask/request/push him, then he plays 10-15 minutes. We ask him why. He just simply reply he doesn’t want to practice or tired etc. Many excuses.
My daughter has the same problem before. However, when she has entered ICQM, she gained the initiative to practise piano. The music atmosphere in the school has influenced her. Since piano is now taught by teachers in school, she thought that practising piano is a kind of homework that everybody needs to do, rather than a kind of extra-curricular activities that can be dropped any time. She also gained satisfaction during Music Performance lesson, of which all students have to take turns to perform musical instruments in front of class. I think ICQM really has methods to develop the children's interest in music.
