Re: Compare St Paul boys' primary school and Ramondi primary school. Which is be
Agree.
When I went to Raimondi, I expect the kids in a boy school should be very naughty and jumping around like monkeys, but the boys there were very polite and neat!
One of my friends (he is a doctor) sent his two sons to Raimondi without ever trying other schools. I think he should have a lot of options if he wants. His comment about the school is just one word - good.
For geographical reasons, I didn't register with Raimondi thought my son was accepted. But, if I were living on HK side, I will send my son to Raimondi. (One thing I rate Raimondi over Kau Yan is that Raimondi's fee is $10,000 cheaper !)
About famous person from Raimondi, I think "Long Hair" is one of them.

Dear OasisWong,
I am not sure the total number of applications this year. I am told that the ratio last year was 4 to 1 and I assume it is about the same this year.
I got all results of the four applications already and I am not going to try other schools. The main reason for me to choose Raimondi is based on the comments of a friend/neighbour whose son is studying P.2 there. Her son and mine go cycling together quite often. I know the family when their boy was just 4. She told me that Raimondi has been quite good in taking care of the students in many aspects. The volume of homework was appropriate. And I agree with the school's programme of bring up the students in a progressive way. P.1 & P.2 are half-day school; P.3 onward are full-days. Chinese is the major language for teaching and most of the subjects will have English teaching by P.5. Even SPCo is implementing this way. If you are interested in knowing the achievements of this school, I can tell you that two of their F.5 students had won the Second prize in this year's Olympic Maths. HK. Yes, it may not be as famous as the SPC, SPCo, and DGS. But it is a Band 1 school with a long good history. I trust my neighbour because she is a well educated, polite, and friendly person. She has been bringing up her son well. Being a family with no score on religion, it is hard for my son to compete with those with such score despite his being the top pupil in kindergarten. My colleague's daughter was accepted by both SPCo and Heep Yunn. I guess the score on religion played an important role as they belong to the church of Sheng Kung Hui. He gave up SPCo and took Heep Yunn.
Don't worry. Many famous persons are graduated from Raimondi. It was a good school even when I was studying Secondary many years ago. |
