How to choose between HKUGA and Logos

My son has been accepted by HKUGA. We had also attended the second interview of Logos. Likely that he will also be accepted by Logos. Anybody can advise how to choose between HKUGA and Logos ?

I think you are one of the minority that choose both HKUGA & Logos. Logos doesn't have too much homework, no uniform and no textbook. At present, they don't have any extracurricular activities and all non traditional subject will be included in the afternoon session as their formal lesson. Similarly, HKUGA also put their core non traditional subject into their afternoon session, but they also provide after school extracurricular activites for you to choose. Logos headmaster is a very self confident person, which may not be receptive to some people. Both are good school with clear vision, student there love going school but not necessarily let you know what they have learnt. This sort of teaching method takes time to see their results but definitely you needn't struggle with your child on their homework. If I were you, I'll take the one closer to my home. Good Luck.

My findings last year:

Logos
- A grand vision if implemented successfully.
- 11 years of primary + secondary study. In theory their students should learn a little more than other schools every year.
- Extremely passionate teachers some of which are professors.
- The school invent their own teacher material most of the time.
- Not easy for parents to fully appreciate the innovative teaching methods/styles especially when there are no textbooks. It is hard to access how much children have learnt, let alone helping them.

HKUGA
- 12 years of primary + secondary study
- Standard teacher material.
- Most, if not all, planned activities/tasks promised by the Principle are on schedule.
- Parents have more confidence that their children is learning as there are quiz, homework, assessment etc, but the volume of work is much less than traditional schools as HKUGA has other activities such as life education etc

Personally I will concentrate more on what has been achieved by the school rather than what the school wants to be achieved in future.
All founders of education instituions have grandiose vision, but ... ...

I will choose HKUGA. I attended both schools briefing sessions and interviews. Thru briefing sessions and the school tour of HKUGA, I understood the ways they teach and their intra- and extra-curricular activities were very attractive to me. And the most important things is that they are now actualising their visions, not only talk and talk. When I walk around the school, the school is running lively. Many works from students are posted on their notice boards so that I can assess their levels. They create a chance for us to talk directly with their students by allowing their students to lead the school tours. Their students are really confident and smart and they all said that they are very happy with their school life.

For Logos, the principal was still presenting his vision in the briefing session but not much details in how they actualise it. When I walk around the school during the interview, I find that the toilet facilities are broken and dirty. The drinking machine is full of rust that you will not dare to use it. I cannot find any works of students displayed. I do not have a clear picture about the school. Also, according to the message of some of the parents from this school, I learn that they will only give marks like 13/15 and the parents cannot see the paper at all because the school regarded them as their own property!

So, in my personal opinion, I will choose HKUGA.

No, my son is now attending Victoria. We prefer it as it has already been certified for IB and uses English + Putonghua for teaching.
