any kids from SPK get into DGJS 09/10, I heard that there were quite a few get into DGJS, any mummy can share?  my girl is now a SPK K3 student

When I talked to a lady in club house, the lady said her sister's daughter used to study in SPK, got a seat at DGJS.

我囡囡同你個女一樣, 今年讀K3, 請問你知否原校收回的機會有幾大, 我而家都心大心細, 怕st. paul covent唔收, 而我亦無報其他私校,直資, 到時要等6月大抽籤, 會好徬徨.

My daughter also studying k3 in SPK.  Do u know when spk will inform us whether SPC will accept them for p1? Will this coming sat meeting notice us? If they notice too late, i think better to apply some other private primary schools for backup la!

I heard from some old SPK student, they told me that the P school's principal will come to kindergarten and talk to the kids.  we might know the result between 21-25 Sept.  I am worried about it. do you guys think that the class teacher of K1 & K2 write the recommendation or not???

i have apply some other school for back up.  how about you?

do you know how can the girl get into DGJS?  did they join a lot of activities......

i also v worry about it! do u know what were the selection criterias for the past yrs cases? I asked her classteacher in last parent meeting whether my daughter could come up to spc p1 but she refused to tell.  Then i even asked the principal but also couldnt get the ans.  They shifted the responsibilty to the primary school principal!  But i really wonder how can the spc principal can decide just based on a brief group interview lor!!!Personally i think they should inform us earlier so that we dont need to apply other private primary schools and worry so much ar ma!  But is it in the end all of the spk students can enter into spc as some may abondon spc (like those can enter dgs or st paul coedc??) But waitlisting for spc of course not gd la!
BTW which school do u apply?

I am not sure about dgs ar!  perhaps gd background/gd english and many awards/activities???

I am so worry about the P1 admission for my girl. Though SPC accept almost 90% of the student in SPK, but there are 10% student in waiting list or being rejected.  I am so afraid if my girl will be that 10%.

I am so lazy and don't want to apply other school, besides, I like St Paul's Convent but my concern is whether they accept my girl.

如果要九月底才知結果, 有些直資和私校都已經截止報名. 所以我今日都幫囡囡報咗DGJS, 因為明天截止. 不過,DGJS係好難入的學校, 我都係抱住報咗名先的心態,遲D會報埋第一輪派位, 等到知道SPC會收我個女時, 我可能什麼都唔做, 等升班. 不過而家真係唔上唔落, 有d擔心.

Hi invitation,

i am very worry about it too.  I had apply few private school as they all deadline these few days.  If SPC confirm before the interview day, I will not attend the interview.  This month is a long long month.  do you thnik sister will interview the kids after the meeting on saturday?

what do you think?

you are right, so i also have applied some schools for backup.  I have applied dgs, st paul coedu and HKUGA.  But all are v competitive....

Do u mean those 10% some will be put in waitlist and some in rejection list? then really v worry wor!  

I wish our daughters will be accepted by spc la!

I have the exact thoughts as you, i also wont interview those schools if spc will accept my daughter! Dont know when the sister will turn up ar!  Is it really depends on that meeting with the sister?? i personally think should  based on some comments from k1/2 classteacher and spk principle??

我問過一個今年升小一的媽媽, 我同佢講我好擔心, 佢話佢個女 K2學期尾最後一次見家長時, 佢係咁問係咁問, 最後個老師都比咗D HINT 佢, 所以佢知佢個女實上到SPC. 不過最後佢都係讀咗第二間.

至於同校巴站今年09入讀DGJS的家長話, DGJS INTERVIEW 好簡單, 只係幾分鐘, 最後收咗佢個女, 佢都唔知點解, 所以佢叫我報咗先, 如果SPC 擺咗亞女係WAITING LIST, 都重可以睇吓運氣.

Hi, TV not allow,

I live in HK east.  

I believe this Sat we will receive the application form for SPC and the application for all P1 第一輪派位.

I told myself not to worry too much, in fact, I am very lucky, at least my daughter has about 90% chances to get into SPC.  Just in case... if she is in the waiting list.. then what i need to do is just similar to other parents, to apply other private/dss school and/or to join the luck draw.
:-)

In end Sep, I think I will know the result and I can make it clear what I need to do.

My girl is studying K2 now.  I have the same concern as yours.  

I think there may be more responses if you post this topic to the primary forum as the former K3 parents may not read the kindergarten forum anymore.

If the admission result can be announced in late September,  I think it is the performance in K1 & K2 that determines and personally, I believe that the comment from K1 K2 teacher is critical and influential.  But what is the selection criteria? Why some kids will be rejected or put on the waiting list? less smart or not disciplined? It is really a mystery to parents.  Anyone can share their experience?
