I really don't know for sure, and this is purely my guess, so don't 'stabbed' at me, ok?
I think if the boy's english is very good (eg. as good as a native speaker), then I think choosing english language may have a slightly better chance as DBSPD is an english school afterall. However, if the boy's english is fair (like what one would expect of a K3 student or maybe just slightly better only), then I don't think it should make much differences, and in this case, it may be better to choose a language which the boy is most comfortable with so he is more likely to speak up. Afterall, the school goes for 'outspoken' and confident boys so as long as your boy is willing to speak up and is confident, he should be fine even if he gives the 'wrong' answer ('wrong' from adult's perspective).
I think this is especially true for 2nd round, where quite often there is no 'model' or 'correct' answers to their questions. They just want to test whether the boy can think on his feet and I think they would prefer to see the 'real' side of the child, what he is really like, as opposed to what he is supposed to be like.
Hope this helps!

Hi Chatterbox
Thank you. Do you think / have any idea about the importance of choosing interview language. i.e. interview in Eng. Lang. have much higher chance be accepted by DBS? |
