My daughter is now 17 months. I've used flash cards but the progress is deplorably slow and she's not interested in it. I've tried other educational tools and I found the following quite effective and interesting:Your Baby Can Read/ Noddy Baby Step and Pre-school Prep series (bought from Amazon) :) I will also read story books with her.
