Sorry 甘遲至覆，因呢2日好忙。其實無所謂”mud”類型,只係bb鍾意聽音樂,屋企有套美語世界“反版“,一講故事個囡就走夾唔”ling”頭,反而開場歌就睇到眼甘甘,所以想買齋歌仔的比bb學英文。

Let me share my experience. I play the Twins's children songs VCD No. 2 to my baby since she was 3 months old. She can wave and nod with the beat from 4 months old. Then I purchase No.1 and play to her alternatively. From 10 months, she can dance with the songs. So, I bought No.3 and No.4.

I bought Richard Scurry's VCDs from Shenzhen ($100) and play to her. (There are also children songs inside, Counting songs, ABC songs, Shapes songs, Opposite songs, etc) She like them very very much and point and read aloud some of the key words. She is almost 16 months.

You will find many songs repetitive but babies like them like that.

I think we must start with songs cos babies like to learn from songs.

Frankly speaking, I would not buy twin's because of their Chinese accent. There is a set of 4 discs Disney's children's favorite songs selling in HMV and there are around 25 (roungly) songs in each disc. I think it is pretty good but it costs around $100 each. However, you can borrow this kind of CDs from library as well. May be you should go to the library to have a look and you will find a lots of childrens' nursery rhymes there. More than you need and it is free of charge.

You can find Richard Scarry's VCD in Dymocks, Kiss my Kids etc. Around $49 each.

I've the same feeling about the “Twins Albums” as well.  I don't allow my Indonesia maid speak to by little girl in English just because her strong accent (even though I've Chinese accent too, hee hee). I think the Disney set is the one I'm looking for, will go to HMV & library to see what can I find.  Thanks.

Can anyone tell me who is Richard Scarry? Very famous or popular in bb songs?  Sorry for my silly question.

My Richard Scurry set was bought from Shenzhen "BookCity". The box set has 8 pieces of VCDs with a lyric book. It just cost me RMB 100.
For those who are concerned about the accent, the the sound track of Richard Scurry is by native English speaker. I think it is very good buy.

P.S. I cannot really detect the Catonese accent in Twins' VCDs. I think that is acceptable to me.

Would you please tell me more on Richard Scarry's VCDs which you brought from Shenzhen? Are all those 8VCDs nursery rhymes? Are those all propular nursery rhymes or children's song tail made for Richard Scarry's? are the pictures or children that shown on those VCDs correspond to the lyrics of those nursery rhymes (it means they are doing what the songs meant)? Thank you as I am interested in it.

Very funny indeed.
I have seen some bk mommy recommending Sesame Street VCD in "Book City" here. So, I ask my hubby to buy one from Shenzhen. When I first get the VCDs, I was very disappointed as the contents have nothing to do with Sesame Street.
Then, after 2 months, I think I should not waste it and try to let my baby to view it. The English accent is good and the cartoon is quite interesting. Then, I saw Richard Scurry's books in Page One bookshop and learn that Richard Scurry have a full series of children readbooks with cats and other animals as main characters.
All the stories are about a BusyTown and the animals (as human characters) living in it. There are stories of these animal characters going to school, going to fun fair, reading at home, etc. And these animal characters will sing to enrich the stories. I would say the melody is rather similar in every song (to me) but the lyrics are good in exaggerating the points to learn in each section.

Thank you so much! Wow! It is infact a disc of two of the H.K. version!!! Is the quality good? Do you buy it in a set of 8VCDs or you can buy those discs separately? I am interested in disc 1 to 3 as 4& 5 sounds a bit boring ??? Is that true? What other VCDs or DVDs do you use for your baby that you think it is good as well? You can pm me so we can share our experience.

You are so right. I only played Disc 1 to Disc 3 to my baby. The others are not really Richard Scarry and not so good. Maybe the Chinese publisher just think that they should include some more things to make more appealing (But not useful to me). For Disc 1 to Disc 3, the quality is fine. The handbook attached contained all the scripts and lyrics for Disc 1 to Disc 3.
But RMB100 for just 3 discs (in fact 6 discs for noraml package) is already quite cheap.

For example, the ABC songs by the Hippo
A is for apple
B is for bed
C is for crown that you wear on your head....

My baby is 4 months. I give "A Child's First Sing-Along" (Vol.1-Vol. 4) to her. 25 songs per CD (per Vol.). She is always excited when listen to songs.
