KW02，
我最近在找暑期課程(主要是playgroups)給我囡囡，我知道在紅磡馬頭圍道一間英文學校，在暑假他們也有專為預備劍橋考試而設的課程，速成的。可能讀完再看可以報考試了沒有吧。這個會快些，也不須用完整個暑假啊。
我問過平時他們也有課程提供，也可以代報考，我覺得也不錯啊。

If you want your kid to take the Flyers, you may not need to enroll / take the courses offered in those schools. You can just buy the materials & train your kid. The kid is "old" enough to understand the importance of the preparation for Flyers exam.

In my experience, my girl did not prepare anything in the first trial. She could only got about 10 out of 15. In the 2nd trial, she just finished the materials I bought from bookstores (the past papers) & practised in a month (4 Saturdays - 2 or 3 hours every week). She can get 14 out of 15. You can save the money if you can let the kid practise! That's all you need for the preparation to the exam.

In fact, when she was 8 years old, I let her try a course for Movers (but she did not take the exam - I just wanted she could learn). I noticed that most of the courses offered just copy the materials you can buy in the bookstores / British Council (the official material from Cambridge). Under the supervision of the tutors, the kids can do it better. That's why I believe you can do that as well.

Try it first - don't give up!

Haha, my kid is just 3 years old, actually.
I may wait until when she is 5-6, then let her take a course of Starters. Then she could probably, learn English step-by-step.

I heard that some kids might take the exams that were not virtually, for their age groups, though.
But somehow their parents must have put a lot of efforts in that, like you, EDEL!

I really appreciate those parents and hope that one day I could be one of them, haha.

Your kid is so clever......i also want to buy the book for my kid.....but yesterday when i go to some bookstores i found so many different covers for Cambridge starters......do it hv any different ?....or what publisher u buy for your kid......please help~~~

Hi, tenbaby,

They are all from different publishers. To protect yourself (that you can get the useful exercises), I recommend you can buy the one from Cambridge University. There are 3 items in a set - a sample test, an answer book & an audio CD. The price should be below HK$300 in a set. In some bookstores, they can sell all these items separately. You may find the test book but not answer book......

Maybe you can check British Council first - they always have the latest version & must be in a set. Can call them check before you go.
