I was an MPS and MSS girl many years ago.  The school mistress of MSS has just changed this year, so I think she would not be able to make such a great impact.  If the banding has dropped, it might be the consequence of a few years work.  
When I was studying in MSS, the academic results were not very good either, but English is very good.  Almost 1/3 of students would get A in HKCEE, and I think the English standard is still the same.  But regarding Science subjects, the standards are much better now than my days, as I was the only one who got an A in Physics that year.  Now, they would have many more A's in the Science subjects.  Chinese has never been an advantage as the school place a lot of emphasis on English.
Sports is better now, and the Junior Tennis Champion in HK is also an MSS girl.  But MSS has never stressed very much on sports.  But performing arts is their strong point.  Every year, the number of prizes from Speech Festival (drama, prose reading, ...) are amazing.  Music Festival is good too, but as the students are all very outgoing (but not very obedient), they don't practice as much as other schools.
In all, I think confidence is very important.  To me, it seems that MSS girls are very confident, not submissive, have high opinion of themselves (you can call it ego).  But they don't compete against each other that much as in some other schools.  And the school has the tolerance for different kinds of students, and encourage them to pursue different personal goals.

現在小學暫時是在雲景道, 因工在重建中, 兩年後才搬回藍塘道.

我都知道唔係間間政府資助或津貼的小學有面試,佢地有安排面試.
果日學校分別於2/F和3/F的課室面試,我們依照通知書上的時間和資料到了2/F,果層有2個課室做等候室,大約有4個課室做面試,我地交左封通知書比老師就係等候室等叫名,老師祗是帶小朋友一個人到面試課室,個女話試課室有2個老師,其中一個主要是發問問題,而問題內容都是圍繞日常生活.好似"讀邊間幼稚園","住係邊到","屋企電話號碼","今日邊個帶妳黎面試","最鍾意邊個節日,點解呀?","假日父母會帶妳去邊到玩","係邊到返彌撒","鍾吾鍾去海洋公園玩,點解呀?","黎學校時沿途見到甚麼交通工具"等等....,以上是綜合了3個小朋友面試時的問題.面試時間大約2-4分鐘,有一個祗問了3個睇小朋友回答時速度和反應而定.
