I think it should be around 5xx, for I sent the applications on the last day and my son got the application number nearly to 500.

My son had an interview on 9/10 and he suddenly remembered the content yesterday.  He said the teacher asked him many questions in Chinese.  He could answer most.  The teacher showed him some pictures and asked him to tell the English, e.g. he saw a snake and he did not know its English.
I worried very much and could not sleep well every night.  Take long time, to wait until 30/10.

Hi, do_r_me,

Please try to take it easy & release yourself, otherwise, you will pass the pressure to your son also.  Try to presuade your son to speak out from GT question & make improvement on the coming interview, right?

BTW, I am still wonder how GT to make decision for successful candidates.  GT never checked my son's original document, e.g. Birth cert., awards or school reports, etc.  

Nevertheless, we did our best is good enough, good luck to you & me.

I think it won't be difficult to get accepted by GT.  They got several hundred candidates.  However, remember that most people would apply a few schools and many would regard DSS as second choice (first choice being those free schools).  So, the DSS actually face a a small risk of inadequate students (I mean students with reasonable standard).

Thanks a lot for your kindness.  
My son has confidence after GT's interview and he said GT will accept him.  Before interview, he knows GT and likes the school very much.  He said he answered all the questions very well and he only did not know the English of snake.  He was interviewed up to nearly 1 hour.  I don't know why so long compared with other kids.  I think my part was OK .
My son applied 4 DSS only and all are the new style school, "活動教學" since my son is very active and could not "坐定定". I have no more energy to face any more interviews.  All interviews finished and now just keep on waiting.  If no acceptance from these DSS,  we will got to the lucky draw.

Is yr kid being accepted??   Did you register??

My kid did not receive anything yet so I suppose she failed.  So I don't have any problem at all.

I wish every kids got accepted by GT are really Gifted Talent.
