2000 total: 53,720
男: 28,186; 女: 25,534

2001 total: 49,144

Grateful if you can advise where you get the statistics as feel interested and also for 2nd baby boy born on 2003. So would like to know the birth rate in year 2003 too.

By guessing you post this topic that your kid also born in year 2000 like my elder son, are you like me start to plan or worry for the next year Primary 1 application, I feel a bit stress and cannot figure out what is the best for him, whether private or public will suit him most, private will no worry for the next 6 years of primary and can go direct to the secondary, but public have to figure out the standard and also the competitiveness of the primary school and the same painful process when he apply the secondary....

Dear Moms,

It's me again. I saw the mom also reply to the other topic for year 1999 birth rate and she replied her source was:-

Hong Kong Monthly Digest of Statistics

so I assumed that is from The Census and Statistics Department (C&SD), but that government publication is a pay information, and also the year birth rate is annually not monthly, a bit confused as to where to find.

Grateful if you can share with us the web site here so that everyone can find their information particularly.

Your help will be highly appreciated :)

The information is from "Hong Kong Monthly Digest of Statistics" 香港統計月刊 by 香港統計處。

jazzmama, 資料沒有顯示有沒有計到新移民, 以下數字只是在香港的出生數字:

1999:  男-26,280; 女-24,233 = 50,513
2000:  男-28,186; 女-25,534 = 53,720
2001:  男-25,599; 女-23,545 = 49,144
2002:  男-24,925; 女-23,194 = 48,119
2003:  男-24,688; 女-22,999 = 47,687

以下是”香港統計處”網站，有興趣可以去看吓，但如要以上的資料是雖要order.
