ESF P.6 Interview 考的乜野？深唔深？

ESF call my daughter to attend the P.6 interview next week.  I'm afraid she can not meet the standard as he is now in P.5 local school.  Moreover, she refuse to change school and refuse to go for interview.  How should I do?  I wait the chance for long time already.

I don't know about the interview, but can share how we tried to convice our girl to change from local to international.  She started international just now.

We find the curriculum from the school web, explain to the girl the major benefits:
1.  No homework (or not everyday at least 5)
My girl told me they are suppose to do most of the excercise in class
2.  Fun projects - the way of learning
3.  Variety of class that are not offered in local school :e.g. physology ( even though not until Grade 10 or 11?, Ha ha...), technologyy and design (which is fun.....) drama.... etc
4.  method of learning is very interactive / experimental, rather than more traditional teaching  (however, my girl told me local schools already improving in this respect.
5.  Fun activities (you may find on the web) e.g. school fair, parties. I even saw bands performance, very teenage...

I'm afraid they will ask her why she want to apply for international school at the interview.  If your girl is not convinced (or at least serriously considering), it may be very difficult.

I went through your problem with my wish not neccessary same as hers. On the other hand, is she really prepared for international school?

Which grade & which school your daughter studying now?  Was she convienced to change to  Int'l school and happy to go there now?

Did you worry she can not adapt Int'l school life and can not chase the standard?

Does your girl good at English?

Please advise.  Your valuable advise is much appreciated.  You can PM me if you find it is not convenience to discuss here.

Mine is Beacon Hill School.  How old is your son?  Which grade you want to apply?  Please note the application is based on your catchment.

My girl was failed.  I found it really very difficult to get passed.  In the same group of interview, there has

one boy exam for P.5
three boys exam for P.3
my girl exam for P.6

Among those 5 kids, 3 are from Int'l school and two from local school.  Only the P.5 one from Int'l school get passed.

The teacher asked me to re-exam three months later if I like.  I'm hesitate to do so.

Interview include:

1.  Oral
2.  Writting essay
3.  Reading story book & answer question.

Interview duration:  1hour

I think it is not easy to get in

Remember me? Personally i think is not a good timing to change school for your daughter, she has already built up friendship in her existing school lah, kids in this age (i guess around 10), friendship plays a very important role.

I strongly believe she doesn't want to lose her friends from school, plus is quite hard for her to meet new friends in the new school (cos most of them were friends since Y1).

Y6 will focus on the graduation events during this year, i guess is less interest for your daughts cos she doesn't raise up in the new school.

No need to worry lah, talk to your girl and see how she felt about the international school.

BTW, how's your son doing? My girl enjoys QBS very very much, met couple of new friends. Do you find the mandarin class is too simple? I have a private tutor for her lah. How's your arrangement?

Of course I remember you.  I will give up BHS for my daughter.  May be try KGV next year but still no confident to be admitted.

Regarding my son, he loves BHS very much.  For mandarin class, they just sing a very simple song but he can prononce quite well.  I'm looking for a private tutor for him too.
