If you are talking about IPA, then definitely it would be too early for kids at such a small age.
I guess you are referring to phonics. However, phonics may already be taught at some kindergartens. It's better to check with the kinder. first.
Phonics is good for encouraging young ones to say an English word and more importantly it helps one to do dictation (according to some experienced parents). But since English pronunciations have many exceptions, it would be good if one knows IPA system to self learn the pronunciation without relying on teachers or speaking dictionaries. |
