有好多朋友都同我講唔好選擇聖瑪加利, 因太多外籍學生, 而且重好多都係差仔差女, 話佢地好差,好壞的.

但我睇過佢地個學校,其實都好完善...又知佢地改革緊.. 有冇家長d仔女係讀緊聖瑪加利, 俾d意見我呢??

我仔仔今年9月讀本校P1, 去年選小學時 St. Margaret 是首選因我認同其辦學特色 (普英及Modern Language) 且有中學,又是男女校,外籍老師作初小班主任(1 Chinese + 1 Net)
當然它不是傳統名校不是"大藍籌"
我當它是"增長股"

”差仔差女, 話佢地好差,好壞的”-
這點我不同意, 人的品德好壞與民族國藉無關,就算香港人亦有壞人和好人,但好人總是多數.

Band 3 是以前舊校(當時仍是津校)的歷史

我對St. Margaret 學校有信心, 過多幾年有自己小學升上中學的畢業生,就會有好的成績.

其實sm唔只收差仔差女, 佢地都收好多混血兒, 仲有純種外國人tim. 近呢一, 兩年我見個比例多咗.

至於差仔差女, 佢地父母肯比錢佢地選擇好d既學校, 都係有心教好小朋友既父母. 佢地可能比較活潑d, 但唔係"壞"果種. 我係學校識到幾個都係好乖, 好有禮貌, 仲好好笑容架.

Band 3 已成過去式，差仔差女好叻架！舊年小五考頭十名都有差女，唔好用有色眼鏡去睇，以前我都以為佢哋D成績比唔上我哋D細路，其實佢哋D父母都投放好多資源及金錢架

真係好多謝各位俾我嘅強心針, 我同我老公都會好放心選擇聖瑪加利.

今年重有家長係今年讀緊(P.1), 令我就更加放心.

我雖然不是smc既家長, 不過係open days 果日,同兩個初高中同學傾過計. 我問: 學校有無金毛仔(染頭)? 佢話無見過, 佢仲話: 絕無可能 ! 就算比你暑假偷偷染左, 開學都要染番黑. 因中學部好嚴+! 英美同學d頭髮就金色, 女仔校服要過膝.

另外一個 f6 既女同學, 佢之前讀一間傳統英中, f 5之後轉過去smc . 我問佢之前既中學, 同SMC有MUD分別? 分別係:之前傳統中學既老師教了很耐, 教完書就走, 同學生無溝通. one way communication,SMC老師相對好關心學生,師生關係很好.
甘我又問: 假設e+時光倒留,比機會你再"簡"中學, 你會選擇 SMC or 之前既傳統中學, 佢話 : 鐘意SMC 多d. 我問係咪開心d? 佢笑笑口.

My little boy is studying P1 in SM.

Like other parents, we had gone through a very thoughtful selection process before committing to SM, including giving up seats in other direct subsidy schools.

We chose SM because of -
(1)  good english learning environment
(2)  caring teachers - seen through various observations
(3)  no exam in P1 - help ensurance of gradual / smooth transition of kids from kindergarten to primary school and help making learning more interesting (not for exam) ---- this is very important.  Imagine if your kid finds primary study very painful at the very beginning, your life would be very painful also, perhaps for the next 10 years.

Do not understand why your friends have the view that SM is a Band 3 school which we totally disagree.  Just a very simple thought - why do parents pay some $30k a year for studying in a Band 3 school as this won't be better off from the government allotment - worse case Band 3 but free of charge.

Good luck to your girl la. Don't give her pressure.

SMC teachers are very good at finding the strengths and weakness of each candidate. My boy is very quiet but they could "make" him talk and learnt his strengths and weakness (which were very accurate). Just let her behave herself.

I agree the above.

用家口碑最重要. 不要讓"傳統觀念"所影響.

你要知道傳統名校多來自"催谷" "課後補習" "家庭背後經濟支持" 埋默小朋友發揮各自專長的優點,　壓制了創造力及對學習的熱忱.

我真係好多謝你呀! 之前我聽到太多人講SMC係用英文教入學試, 所以我就好驚, 我都係諗住到時等我個女自由發揮, 明天又打風, 唉!!!!!! 自己做足心理準備, 平時同佢好似講心事咁講過就算......

努力吧!!

我都好同意你嘅講法, 所以我就好鍾意SMC啦! 我同我老公最希望個女係開心快樂咁成長. 而家佢學緊D課外活動,都係佢至愛. 個個家長最想係見到自己個小朋友開心.

The great thing in SMCE is that children can got a lot of chance to speak English since primary to secondary. Some of the students are native English speakers. I think childern can learn more about different culture form primary to secondary. Comparing with other schools which also welcome non-chinese students, parents in SMCE are more caring their kids, has a religion base (I am catholic) and longer history.
