Why here so many KJS's parents but no Beacon Hill School's parents?  I'm very disappointed.

Dear MomMom,

I think you have not done enough research for ESF before submitting your application.

It is quite well known that the management of Beacon Hill School is not so good. This school has wasted money in decoration and meaningless materials. However, their computer facilities are outdated. One more potential question is that this school is not a branch of King George V School at the very beginning ( i.e. not like Kowloon Junior School ). The management is much looser.

In fact, the performance of BHS principal is not accepted by the ESF central administration. This principal was fired last year. These may be the reasons why so little people applied BHS.

Really?

I really did not do any research about the ESF school.  In my opinion, most of ESF school is quite similiar.  Moreover, which school you apply is based on the catchment.   As I know, the total no. of P.1 students in BHS are 90 while KJS's are 120.  That's why here more parents talking about KJS.

Regarding your point  "One more potential question is that this school is not a branch of King George V School at the very beginning".  To my understanding, King George V School is an ESF secondary school.  The admission is also based on the catchment.

Which ESF school your kid will study?

I have visited Beacon Hill few times (including the interview & induction).  My impression is quite good.

In fact, I live in the catchment area of Beacon hill School. However, due to the poor management of Beacon Hill School as stated in the newspaper and ESF, I change to apply Kowloon Junior School. You can still found some more information on that in the website of Beacon Hill School.

I opine that Beacon will finally catch up with the standard with the new principal and awareness from ESF management. Nevertheless , it may take a few years to recover and to accumulate the funds to replace the facilities as stated by the ESF management.

Dear Ruby,

I use my mother's address. I changed all the utility bills like electricity, towngas, rate and water under my name. An officer of Kowloon Junior School will request you to provide the residential proof before their interview with your child. Only the utility bill bearing my name will be accepted.

Kowloon Junior School stated since quite a number of applications use others address in the past years, they will examine the residential proof in more details.
   
Some more cases that I learnt during the interview day:-

1.    If you rent a house and the utility bill bearers are not your name, you are required to provide a stamped tenancy agreement to prove.

2.  If the bearer is your relative, you need some documental proof. I see some parents take their own birth certificates as the proof.
