我囝囝出世時也有club foot,但不用做手術,只需要做物理治療和帶Splints(類似腳架,keep住要調較),大概八、九個月便不用覆診，依家已經四歲，行走跑跳完全無問題(其實九個月大後和其他小朋友沒甚麼分別),唯一是成十七個月大才識行路(唔知有冇關係？ )
曾問Physio需唔需要着啲特別鞋,好似Dr.Kong咁，佢話基本上唔洗，只不過係Over promoted

Keithmama, do you have any orthopaed doctors that you recommend me for a second opinion.

My son has undergone similar physio treatment that you mentioned but the doctor said that it'd better to have a surgery, though not a major one.

Sorry I'd just take the follow-up in Government hospital and didn't seek any opinion from Private doctor, but maybe because the condition of my kid not very serious, so the Orthopaedic Surgeon / Paediatric Doctor didn't recommend me for any surgical option,
But during this period, i've searched a lot of information from the web, and knowing that surgery is quite common for club-foot(the serious one)
I think u can ask for the Paed. doctor for another opinion.

Yes, I've also brought my baby to a private orthopaedic for consultation.  He suggests that the surgery shall be carried out before aged 1.5 yrs old, but you know, the public hospital will not notify you the date until they have a very confirmed one.  

Besides, the private doctor is neutral as to whether I should swopped to him for surgical operation.  I wonder whether I should go to private or public.  The costs is not a problem except the subsequent physio treatment needed which will be quite a long period.  But I believe it can be referred back to public hospital for the physio part.  The most difficult part is I am afraid that going to private, my baby has to do all tests and assessment from the very beginning.

As I know, either u can request to transfer the case from private to Public or vice versa, u can ask for a comphrehensive medical report for what u have done, including the X-ray film, just u need to paid some money for the report.
Before my mother take the MRI for other problem in government hospital and we ask for dulplicate film to seek for second opinion in Private hospital, just take a week and some money for the duplicating charge.

Your information is very useful, maybe I should ask the public hospital for a copy of record and check out with a private one to access how many tests should need again.  

BTW, have u gone to any other centres to help your son's case when he was still a baby?

I just take Physiotherapy in Government hospital, but one of my friend is Physiotherapist and specialized in Paediatric care, (she even look after baby in Intensive care baby), she told me that my son condition not very wrose (even the private doctor and public doctor said the same), so i just search some extra information from the web and didn't ask for other resources in the community!
But just knowing from them even the serious case requiring surgical treatment ,大個行路亦沒有太大問題!
