Both schools have accepted my girl. For SC, a PM session place is given whereas an AM session place is given by KV. At first ,I prefer KV as my girl has been adapted to the AM school timetable in nursery. But, after talking with my friends, they asked me to choose SC as their children really learnt a lot from the school esp. their English standard has been improved. Also,children can learn actively and with fun. As for KV, they focus more on Maths and Chinese. Their teaching method seems more traditional but effective. Also, I know more homework is given too. One of my friends' son found it too strict and hate school at the end.At last, he has moved to another school.
As I hope my child can learn with fun and learn Eng. well, I have chosen SC at the end. My friends really give me confidence to accept the offer.

我識3-4位 KV 家長都是因 SC 唔收, 退而求其次讀 KV lor...
有聽佢地講: KV無外籍老師英文嘛嘛.. 口音唔準

另有1位KV家長無報SC, 佢就覺得KV 好封閉, 家校溝通不足... 又無旅行...

我個女依家係SC讀緊 Lower 班，果陣都係被 KV &
SC 同時取錄左，但我覺得SC 較適合我個女，亦符合
我的要求！

個人認為個個家長要求不同，小朋友亦會適應不同學校
的教法，我有朋友特登揀 KV ，就係鍾意佢乜活動都冇
，不用下下進行什麼「親子乜乜、親子物物」的活動，
唔駛煩到d家長喎，而且兩校既 style 都唔同，各有各
好！

3年前我囡囡同時被SC & KV取錄, 我都覺得難以取捨, 最後我得到一位朋友指引, 最終放棄KV 而取SC, 今年囡囡於SC畢業, 在SC過了3年非常愉快的校園生活, 亦考到多間心儀小學, 所以我更加覺得當年自己的決定非常正確!

如果你問KV家長, 他們一定覺得KV比較好, 同樣你問SC家長, 他們也一定覺得SC好些, 所以答案不夠中肯! 當年我那位朋友就是曾經是KV & SC家長, 所以我覺得他的經驗值得參考!

我那位朋友的兩位兒子現在都是讀La Salle中學及小學, 大兒子當年讀SC, 以前La Salle小學是可以考, 他的兒子亦順利考入, 到小兒子時, 就轉了制度不能考, 但因為大兒子正就讀La Salle, 所以弟弟一定入到, 於是他就讓小兒子讀KV, 因為貪KV學費較平, 反正弟弟一定入到La Salle!

他說好明顯小兒子英文程度較差, 初初上到La Salle都感到吃力, 而且因為SC有外籍老師, 學生有好多機會聽及說英語, 所以大兒子說英語比較自信, 不會害怕在眾人面前表現自己, 相反小兒子就比較怕說英語! 而且他覺得SC課程較全面又夠靈活, 學生可以輕鬆學習! 他說當年真的有少少後悔貪KV學費較平而沒有讓小兒子讀SC, 所以他叫我要三思, 千祈唔好放棄SC的優質教育...... 最終我都選擇了SC! 今年我囡囡畢業了, 我和她真的在這3年過了愉快又難忘的校園生活, SC真的能train到小朋友好有自信, 下年到我小女兒考幼稚園了, 我都一定會讓她在SC就讀, 希望她到時考到啦!

本人於之前先後致電此兩校有關學費及課程的問題, 亦在網上看各MAMA給此校的評價:

學校reply:
SC - K1一星期有二堂國語(每堂20分鍾), 另外的時間是英文, 但有個中文老師, 學費$3309 x 10
KV - K1沒有國 ...

我仔仔去年同時被SC & KV取錄, 最後選了SC。

以我所知，如同時被SC & KV取錄的，最後選SC的佔大多數。而K1考不入SC而入了KV的，亦有些升K2時會考返入SC做插班生。

我囡囡當年考SC時還沒有分英普/英粵班, 所有都是英粵班, 報名表上要填選用英語還是粵語interview! 當年她考了SC, KV, 約克, 聖若望及培正, 幸運地全部都收, 但當中我只考慮SC & KV, 最終選了SC!

My son was also accepted by both SC and KV two years ago and we chose SC. He is going to study at K3 in this September. Frankly speaking, I am very satisfied with his performance that he is confident to talk to anyone by English rightnow. We only speak cantonese with him at home except that he does speak English with the domestic helper. I am also quite astonished for his performace and substantial progress that he always tries to say the English words by himself whenever he sees the English names of the roads and shops when he walks along the street. In most cases, he can pronouce them correctly. Besides, he can say an essay of a P2 English book easily although he may not understand the meaning. What I think is he has grasped the phonetic skill well and that is the reason why he can handle it easily.

I believe KV is also a good kindergarten but SC is absolutely a good choice.

我的仔仔現在正在學國語，雖然學校都有得學，但因堂數唔多及衹是初學，平時講的木幾會又唔多，所以表現一般。故我們亦安排另外D堂俾佢。至於英文，他亦有join其他的英文play group。

It's a right choice!

My daughter will go to primary this sept.
I also given up KV three years ago.
I think I got a right choice because she has a great
progress within this 3 years.
Her english is quite good because of her english teachers.
Now she can read the story book (ie.oxford story book
stage 9)by herself.
she enjoys her school life very much!

My daughter got both offers...she got into eng/ptg class in st. Cat now... i will let her take the offer.... since she was studying in a eng/ptg school b4...if she choose Kentville then i will have to get her to do extra learning for eng and ptg....to maintain her eng/ptg...

Her brother just graduated from Kentville this year....Kentville's actually a very good school....except the english oral and ptg are quite weak...its chinese and maths standard are pretty high though....the teahcers are pretty straight starting from K2...homework comparatively more...dictation everyweek....i let my son to join eng phonics and oral outside school...

So it really depends on your future preference of primary schools you want you child to go...my daughter is "walking" on the eng/ptg path...
