hi all,

my daughter is a big girl (born by earlier of the year). In fact, I am considering to put my daughter into nursery class (2years old class) in the coming September this year. But at the time, she will be 2 year and 7 months, she will become the oldest in the nursery class.
According to the advice by one of the international kindergarten, they suggest me to apply their K1 class for my daughter in coming October rather than let her study the nursery class, as they learn from experience the big kid studying in K1 will benefit more than they study in nursery. As they said nursery class will only teach the students how to take care themselves and social skill, but the kids in K1 will learn more knowledge. I am doubt to put my daughter into K1 for coming October, as in this case she become the youngest in the K1 class. I heard alot that better let the kid be the oldest in the class, they will more confident and happy. Is that true? Should I put my daughter into nursery? or let her repeat K1 if necessary?

我諗, 我女兒同你個女差唔多大, 我女2002年1月出生, 即係所謂大女, 我已決定比佢讀一年k1 (係國際學校), 原因同你所指差唔多, 因為nursery學既野同k1有分別, 而且我現選之k1學校比較近屋企, 可以慳番d 時間接送.

而我本身都有考慮過, 要佢今年入k1, 可能會因太細而追唔上, 不過國際學校既k1可能仲輕鬆過本地學校既nursery, 我亦一心只係想佢玩下已而, 2005年先會正式入幼稚園, (除非佢今年k1, 真係咁叻讀得店, 我先會繼續), 兼且返下k1, 可能interview出年k1時會表現好d..

我個case都同你好相似，我囡囡係11月出世，但到佢今年2歲時大部份nursery都沒有位或不收插班生，咁我決定比佢做大女即下年9月開始讀n1，而佢04/11-05/8會比讀間學費平d又能學好品行的nursery等佢下年考k1都醒d，而你都可以比佢讀一年int'l sch的k1或1年local sch的nursery，

其實我覺得大少少都無所謂的，佢會無咁辛苦同好多野容易掌握到，如果比佢太細個返學的話，在學校時如遇上挫折好容易令到佢無自信心同唔鐘意學校生活。咁對佢大個上小及中學時有好大影響的。這純屬是我的個人意見及親身體驗。給你作個參考吧。

Hi Erikalo & Kae,

Thank you so much for all your reply.
As I don't got any freeback from BK in the pass week, so I have already decided to send my daughter to int'l nursery class on coming September, you all might right that int'l K1 might be just same as local nursery class only, so I think I will first let my daughter to study in nursery class for few months, then if she has got ability to go upper class and also if there is still a space for K1 then I will let her go. I think that would be a good preparation before she goes for interview the local school.
