Which would you choose? Except for Taiwan and Hong Kong, the rest of the world that teaches or uses Chinese uses Simplied character.

I am a bit leaning toward simplified chinese. But being in Hong Kong, most (if not all) of the chinese resources available are in traditional characters, i.e. chinese books sold in bookstores are mainly in tradtional chinese. There are not enough readily available simplified chinese books/resources (unless one travels to china or singapore). Or am I wrong? I'd love to be able to find a simplified chinese bookstore.

Your thoughts?

I'm also wondering if I should let my son (doing Year 1 at Sha Tin Junior School) learn simplified Chinese rather than traditional Chinese outside the school. My son has been doing KumoX Chinese for one month. The teacher asked me if I should let him learn 'simplified Chinese' as she said all the students of Sha Tin Junior School were doing simplified Chinese.
Any opinions? Any advice from SJS mothers?

I really think otherwise: it's much easier to learn complex characters since you're in Hong Kong. Also, once someone learns the complex characters, it's easier to learn the simplified ones later, but NOT vice versa.
