Hi bertcyma,

There is no n1  or prep class in St Cat.

It's hard to say if it is difficult to enter St Cat or not.  St Cat is a popular kinder and it attracts 2-3 thousand (heard from other source) students to apply every year.  The crucial part is the interview session.  If you kid will go to K1 soon, you can gather more information about St Cat and other schools.  Don't care about if it is difficult to enter or not.  If you feel good about the school, just go ahead and apply it.  That's is my opinion.

As for the content of the interview, actaully it tests the children's response.  Simple as "What is your name? How old are you? Who bring you here" or logical questions as "which animal can fry and which animal can swim" (with pics of animal to choose).  I think it is all for general living.  Just talk with your children daily about everything around him/her and I don't think it is too difficult for the kid.

我女兒現讀N班2007/08. 06年面試時知道有英普班, 所以帶她學5堂普通話, 然後面試.
中英班和英普班由不同group的老師面試, 由於中英班比例上多人報, 選出的機會少, 如果可以的話便報英普班(這兩年每年收2班約32人), 報的人相對少, 入讀機會大.
我女兒讀的一班傾向大仔, 出生由03年11月至04年6月,大部份在1月2月出生.老師口說不會因為年齡而取錄, 只看表現.
面試都是問一些生活上知識,如顏色, 身體各部份的功用, 看圖說出內容.不用唱歌,表演, 單看老師和小朋友的眼緣.
也會用英文和國語問家長你對學校和小朋友的期望.國語問國語答, 英語問英語答.
我女兒一面挖鼻孔一面答問題.也不專心聽老師問什麼, 反而不停四處望, 問我這是什麼, 那是什麼. 老師一句very keen to learn.便沒有問我女兒太多問題, 然後考國語.
一句到尾: 我也不知老師喜歡那類人, 盡力便成了.
