My daughter has been learning the violin in Yip's for some years. I don't understand why there are comments about $$$.
For group class, it has been HK$650/month for as long as I can remember. For private lessons 小課, it depends on the teacher. And the money goes to the teacher, unless you need to have the lessons in Yip's premises (then you need to rent the room).
When the class joins a concert, we'll need to pay for piano accompaniment.
If you're in 演奏班 which holds a concert, you'll need to buy a certain number of tickets.
Apart from these expenses, which are quite normal, I can't think of other things associated with $$$.
In my daughter's class of 7 students (from P.5 to F.2), 3 have got LTCL (2 at 10 years old, 1 at 13 years old), 3 at ATCL, and 1 grade 8. And most of these exams were passed with distinction.
