我囡囡剛做完iQ test, 有128 分, 100 個 (外國) 小朋友中, 佢排no.4. Psychologist 話可以當資優處理, 我已經幫佢報咗啲EQ 班, 希望有幫助.

請問有冇小朋友都做過呢個TEST?

My son did that as he was younger than 5. As WSIC require the object is above age 5.

The disadvantage of this test is no databaseand base line scores in HK, so his score can't compare with the other kids in HK. He can only compare with other kids from overseas and the comparison is not apple to apple, e.g. compare the logic thinking with other kids may be excellent, but compare with HK kids may be only above average.

Thanks for your information.

I'm thinking whether I should arrange my daughter to do the WSIC test when she reaches the age of 5. Does it relly meaningful to do such test?

我想知點樣證明可以當資優處理呢?請問個psychologist有無寫咩信比你呢?因為我阿仔做韋氏126分,都唔知算唔算資優!?

其實係psychologist口頭話俾我聽, 可以當資優處理, 佢俾咗啲資料我, 提議我幫囡囡報EQ 班(for 資優), 佢話用張CERT 去報名便OK.

The popularity of S-B result is not as high WSIC, as it can't compare with HK gifted profile. That's why My son did both. He did S-B as I didn't know the WSIC need to be 5 and the psychologist explained to me about it and the limitation of S=B, I took S-B as we 're there and the psychologist is honest and fair, that's my own choice and not mislead my her.

It's meaningful, because you are no need to explain the difference between S-B and WSIC. Second point is same score not necessary the same standard of giftedness, as no correlation in HK case.

The result can be useful in some school like GT, but not every school.  The reasons are:
1. HK doesn't have any school designed for gifted child, no matter what they claim. (After 6 years still no changes)
2. Some Principals and/or teachers may have misunderstanding on "Gifted" = Smart + Problems.

Be honest, I didn't consider my son is gifted date back primary school admission stage.  I only pick a good "activity learning base" type Christian PS. He confirmed as gifted in P2.

Try to consider gifted and PS admission separately. In HK too many gifted kids, too few teachers and schools to help those kids.  HK is the only countries or regions in Asia Pacific without formal support to gifted child. You need to DIY after getting into PS to further develop her.
