請蘇淅小學國際部家長進來談談

小兒剛被取錄為P5插班生, 並將於9月開學。
本人亦滿意小學部的環境及語境,但聞說其本地中學部校風及成績甚差,且國際部中學會與本地部共用同一校舍,大家有沒有擔心兒女因此學壞?
希望各家長分享。

nice to hear that your kid has joined in P5. Do you mind sharing your decision to make this move for your kid ?

The chinese section there wasn't up to expectation was sth I heard of too. However, I don't really think it will have any big impact on the IS kids because they aren't really studying or playing together. The class hours aren't quite the same.

Mainly because the English std in local school is so low that I don't think my kid can speak Eng confidently.

BTW, would you mind telling me if your kid is studying in IS section ? How do you think of this school ?

my kid is in the P1 class of the IS section.

How is the interview done ? Is it easy ?

I shared a lot of my views about this school in the other forum about "KCIS and victoria". Please go and check. You will find some other parents there too. Interesting though, why have you chosen KCIS ?

The interview was not difficult, Head Master Mrs Daniel conducted the whole interview to both my kid and us (parents).  My kid did well in the Maths part (as it was easy to a local student) and he needed to read an article in order to assess his Eng std.  My kid was accepted right away.  In my impression, she was friendly and caring to kids.  

I find the launguage environement is good and the students are disciplined.  Unlike some other IB schools, there are many foreign students studying there, so my kids can get along with children with different background and culture, it eqips him to study aboard.  It is why I like this school.

BTW, how do you think of this school? Is it good ? What's your future plan for your kid ?

it's really easy, I thought there are some written test on english too.

What other IB  or IS schools have you gone visit too ?

have you read the other forum that I mentioned? It should be on the 2nd page of this forum under " KCIS and ESF". Sorry, I gave you the wrong title last time.

To make it short, the points you made were more or less the same as mine.  The same path, preparing kids for overseas education. Other parents told me that their primary edu in the upper school is good. All developed good reading habits and are behaving well. Do you plan to let your kid stay all the way till matriculation or will leave in the middle level ?
